Those Darn Squirrels is a children’s book written by Adam Rubin and illustrated by Daniel Salmieri. The book tells the story of Mr. Fookwire, an old man who loves to paint birds but hates squirrels, and a group of mischievous squirrels who are determined to steal his birdseed. Despite Mr. Fookwire’s attempts to thwart the squirrels, they use their intelligence and teamwork to outsmart him and get to the birdseed.
The book provides an opportunity to incorporate science activities into reading lessons. Children can learn about the behavior and habits of squirrels, including their diet, communication, and problem-solving skills.
