Squanto, also known as Tisquantum, was a Native American from the Patuxet tribe who played a significant role in helping the Pilgrims establish the Plymouth Colony in present-day Massachusetts, USA.
Squanto’s legacy lives on as a symbol of cross-cultural cooperation and friendship in the early days of European colonization in North America. His assistance to the Pilgrims was crucial in their survival and helped pave the way for the establishment of lasting relationships between European settlers and Native American tribes.
