This story describes how the chipmunk came into being. Bear and Brown Squirrel have a bet about whether Bear can stop the sun from rising, but when Brown Squirrel continuously teases Bear about being wrong, Bear attacks Brown Squirrel and leaves scratches along Brown Squirrel’s back, which is how Chipmunk came to be.
