-A plot graph for predicting how many eggs will hatch. If you only have one student, this plot graph can be done by asking friends and family members how many eggs they think will hatch.
-A narrative writing prompt- “Pretend you are a duckling who is about to hatch out of your egg. A graphic organizer and cute duckling lined paper are included.
-A friendly letter- Students will write a friendly letter saying good-bye to their feathered friends at the end of your unit.

-Embryology and candling- explanation of what candling is, how to do it, and how to observe the development of your chicks right before your very eyes!
