Wow your students with the NO-PREP Halloween Around the World Comprehension Code Escape Room! Students will complete 4 reading comprehension tasks which, if done correctly, will reveal a 4-digit code. Students will LOVE this close reading challenge!
Topics include: Halloween traditions in Cambodia, China, Romania, Ireland, Scotland, Germany
Students will work individually (or in pairs) and race to see who can crack the code first! A friendly competition always increases engagement. After completing each “task” students will earn a “CLUE” to shade boxes on their answer grid. In the end, the grid will reveal a four-digit code!
The close reading activities in this packet allow students to work on comprehension skills after reading the passage several times searching for text evidence. As students complete each task, they will reveal a mystery word to unscramble and a new clue. No prior knowledge is needed.
No PREP required, NO PROPS required, NO SETUP required, and NO LOCKS needed! Just print and go, it’s that easy!! You *could* purchase or use a programmable four-digit lock that allows kids to enter the final code, but that’s optional!
A police report is read and your “lead detectives” have less than an hour to solve the case. (Time can be changed to whatever works best for you)
