The Draw and Explore Geography series is a great way to combine art and geography. A short description of each territory or district is given that includes when the area became part of the United States, its major cities and/or regions, and additional information. Each is followed by an image of the area showing key information on a grid. Next, students can do one or all of the assignments that follow. They can draw half of the image in a grid that shows the left half of the picture, half of the image in a grid that shows the right half of the picture, or the entire image on an empty grid. This makes the unit completely flexible for both left-handed and right-handed students. Multiple review activities as well as an answer key are also included.
Volume 6 includes Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, and Washington, D.C. 31 pages total. Ages 8-13.
