Boost your students’ multisyllabic word reading with this fun sight word game.
Players must be able to use word and syllable decoding skills to correctly read over 80 high-frequency multisyllabic words to get rid of their cards. These words are commonly encountered in text and will help students become more fluent readers and spellers.
The skills used in these words include syllable division, v-e syllables, closed syllables, open syllables, r-controlled syllables, le syllables, vowel teams, prefix, suffixes, roots, and common spelling patterns. A list of words used in this game is included. An editable PowerPoint file is also included to customize the game to your needs.
This game can be used as extra practice for students using any Orton Gillingham-based reading program. Cards may also be used as flashcards or as a matching game activity. This game provides differentiated instruction for tutoring sessions, general classroom use, homeschool, and special education.
