AUSTRALIA – INTERDISCIPLINARY UNIT PLAN (WITH UBD)

This is a unit plan designed to incorporate different aspects of curriculum while studying Australia using the UbD model.
Students will study Australia over the course of four weeks through reading, research and investigations. Students will be able to understand the living conditions in different regions of Australia.
Included are projects and assignments to keep students engaged throughout the unit.
An Interdisciplinary Unit Plan (with UBD) is a teaching guide that outlines a comprehensive and coherent approach to teaching a particular topic or theme in an interdisciplinary manner.
The teaching guide includes a detailed overview of the learning objectives, essential questions, and assessments for the unit, as well as a breakdown of the daily or weekly lesson plans, activities, and resources needed to achieve those objectives. The UBD framework encourages teachers to start with the end in mind, by identifying the desired learning outcomes and designing instruction to meet those outcomes, rather than starting with activities or content and hoping that learning will follow.
