AB Word Family Emergent Readers

This AB Family decodable reader packet contains three emergent readers that focus on the words in the AB word family. With these decodable books, you will practice color words and number words as well as counting with these word family books.

The three books are titled:

• The Cab: focuses on color words
• I Can Count and Dab: focuses on number words and counting to ten
• The Crab Goes to the Lab

Each word family book includes a cover page and 5 or more pages for students to read. The stories and sentences in each book contains simple sight words and the target word family, making them easy for beginning readers to have success with making and reading each book.

These books can also be made by the teacher, laminated and placed in a classroom library or reading center for students to read over and over.

Each book is easy to put together. Students simply need to color or complete the activity on each page, cut the pages in half and then staple the pages together, making sure the cover page is on top, and for the stories with sequential pages, those will need to be in the correct order.
